We founded Child Aid on one simple idea: Children need books.
For more than two decades, Child Aid has invested in literacy and education in Guatemala’s most poverty-stricken indigenous communities. From the start, we recognized the link between illiteracy and systemic poverty, and saw the possibility to make a lasting impact in children’s lives through education.
The Literacy Team
Our exuberant, talented and dedicated team of literacy trainers are the heart and soul of our organization. They are passionate about our mission of improving education in Guatemala and they provide the leadership skills and personal touch that make our programs successful.

Without the support of each partner and donor, we could not have reached more than 81,000 children with books and comprehensive teacher training. Each Child Aid partner launches a ripple effect, building peace and prosperity from one generation to the next.
