Our Solution

We Create Classrooms That Work

In Child Aid classrooms, books fill colorful reading corners. Teachers lead read-aloud sessions, ask questions and use techniques that help all students learn. Kids raise their hands, read out loud, participate and share ideas. Children become independent and confident learners.

Child Aid’s innovative model focuses on transforming how reading and literacy are taught in Guatemalan classrooms. We support systemic change that benefits children for generations, and we do this by giving teachers the training, support and resources they need.

In hands-on workshops, teachers learn new strategies and techniques that make classrooms more interactive and equip students with foundational comprehension and critical thinking skills.

Providing Books

We give teachers colorful, engaging children’s books they can use for classroom activities and literacy instruction. These books excite students and help develop a habit and love of reading.

Nurturing A Culture of Reading

Child Aid literacy trainers work with teachers and principals to promote reading activities and make books more accessible to students. We help schools cultivate a reading culture that encourages students to become lifetime learners.
